Heart of the Shepherd Child Development Center in Howell, MI is looking for caring, educated and trained, flexible staff to join our teaching teams.  At full capacity the Center will hire 7 Head Teachers full time as well as numerous part-time staff for both morning and afternoon shifts.  The Center will serve families with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.  Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.  Resumes and cover letters can be emailed to courtni@hotshepherd.org or mailed to:

Full-Time Head Teachers

Qualifications: Minimum of B.A. in Early Childhood/Child Development/Education or a related field with preferably 3 years previous teaching experience in an Early Childhood/Child Development center, working with children 6 weeks-12 years.

Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of classroom management, plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and projects, communicate effectively with members of teaching team and parents/families, participate in staff meetings and professional development training, provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, positive Christian environment, conference with parents and maintain updated files/records for all children in classroom.

 

Part-Time Teachers

Qualifications: Minimum of an Associates Degree in Early Childhood/Child Development or a related field with preferably 2 year of previous teaching experience in an Early Childhood/Child Development center, working with children 6 weeks-12 years.

Responsibilities: Help plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and projects, communicate effectively with members of teaching team and parents/families, participate in staff meetings and professional development training, provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, positive Christian environment, conference with parents as needed.

 

Part-Time Assistant Teachers

Qualifications: Previous training and/or college credits in Early Childhood/Child Development or a related field, may be working toward degree from an accredited institution of higher education.  Less than 1 year previous experience working with children ages 6 weeks-12 years.

Responsibilities: Assist Head Teachers and Teachers with many aspects of classroom management, work with teaching team to implement developmentally appropriate activities and projects, participate in staff meetings and professional development training, and provide a safe, healthy, nurturing, positive Christian environment.
