Our Staff

Courtni Holst, Child Development Director, comes to this position with over 8 years experience in the Child Development/Early Childhood field.  She has worked as a teacher in the classroom as well as part of the administrative staff for two high quality, nationally accredited programs-The University of Michigan’s Children’s Center and Stanford University’s Bing Nursery School in California.  Courtni also values staff training and professional development and has worked for Michigan Community Coordinated Child Care as a T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Scholarship Counselor.  She has had many different roles in this field and brings with her much experience and knowledge regarding best practices in child development/early childhood education.  View Courtni Holst's resume HERE.

Shana Myers, Morning Preschool Head Teacher, has a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and Human Services with minors in child development, psychology, and social work from Lake Superior State University.  She has 8 years of experience in various centers and is a member of Heart of the Shepherd.   Most recently, she was a preschool teacher for the nationally known child care company, Bright Horizons  Children Centers.  She strives to provide the best possible setting for children to grow and learn at their own pace with a firm grasp of developmentally appropriate practices.  Shana is also a mother of one of the children that attends the Toddler   program.  She brings to this position much knowledge and experience in the field as well as her understanding of what parents feel and experience. 

 
Susan Dickinson, Infant Room Head Teacher
, has a B.A. in Elementary Education as well as specialized training in infant/toddler development.  She comes to this position with over 18 total years of experience having been a director of a child care center as well as owned and operated her own family child care.  She is also a member of Heart of the Shepherd.

Susan is also  mother of 3 boys.  Her oldest is a Freshman in high school and her youngest attends the preschool program at HOTS CDC.  Through her years of experience as both a parent and educator, Susan has gained much knowledge and insight about children and their development.  Susan prides herself in her ability to provide infants with warm, loving, nurturing care and knows how important it is to work with families to create an environment at the Center that reflects parents goals and hopes for their children.
