At Heart of the Shepherd Lutheran Church we follow the teachings of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS).
The sole source, rule and norm for our Christian teachings is the Bible, which we believe "both incapable of error (infallible) and free from error (inerrant)". Through His Word God reveals His law and His Gospel, His Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ. of salvation in Jesus Christ. This congregation holds to a shared confession of Jesus Christ as taught in Holy Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions which we believe are an accurate interpretation and presentation of Biblical doctrine. The Book of Concord contains these statements of belief which give a detailed explanation of what we believe and the proof passages from the Bible that explain the reasons(s) why we hold that certain belief about God, Creation, Sin, Salvation, Jesus, Baptism, Holy Communion, Heaven and Hell, etc. Along with the Bible, Luther's Small Catechism is the most widely used and studied of all the Lutheran Confessions contained in The Book of Concord.
