Our School-Age Program

Heart of the Shepherd offers before and after school care for children in elementary school.  HOTS CDC is a bus stop on Howell Public Schools bus route.  Challenger Elementary is our home school, but parents may request a transfer bus by calling the bus garage.  Before School care starts as early as 6:30 am and your child is escorted out to the bus stop with one of our teachers here.  A teacher will meet your child at the bus stop in the afternoon for after school care time.  After school care is offered until 6:00 pm. 

School-Age Summer Program

At Heart of the Shepherd your children will experience an exciting summer day camp! Children will delve into the natural world around them through topics such as music, art, sports, careers and talents, animals, nature and ecology. Visiting experts in these areas of exploration will help to enhance the learning experience your child will have at our day camp.  Daily explorations will include science, math, art and literacy concepts taught by Christian Head Teachers who are experienced, certified Educators. 

Much time will be spent outdoors exploring our twenty acres that include nature/hiking trails, an extensive climbing ropes structure, massive sand pit, climbing rock, bike, skateboard and roller-blade area and an elaborate sprinkler system for those hot summer days! 
Your child will also benefit from our inside gymnasium where he or she will enjoy basketball, other indoor team sports, music and movement activities, crafts, projects and assemblies.

2010 DATES – Wednesday, June 16th- Friday, September 3rd. 

COST - $31/day from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, $39/day from 6:30 am-6:00 pm

AGE RANGES – School Age Summer Camp for all children that have completed Kindergarten-5th Grade.  Some children that have completed preschool and are 5 years old before the Summer Program begins may join in the school age summer program.
