“Breaking bread” with one another has always been a symbol of mutual friendship and concern…a friendly way to demonstrate a “caring-sharing” attitude and behavior. This, too, is an important part of our ministry as we share some delicious snacks and get to know each other better. It’s refreshing to the soul as well as the body.
Sunday Refreshments Procedures - Coffee: Brew coffee (procedure is posted above coffee brewer). Regular carafes brown rim and decaf has orange rim. There are insulated carafes in cabinet below brewer - place 1 of each on refreshment counter in lobby along with creamer, sugar, stirrers, plates and napkins. Orange tab on carafe identifies decaf coffee. Fresh coffee should be available from 8:00 -11:30. Please check pots continuously - there should always be fresh coffee available during this time!!! Make sure creamers and sugar are filled in baskets. Extra supplies are located in cabinets beneath brewer.
- Donuts: will be delivered to the kitchen by 8:30-9:00. Arrange donuts on large platters located in cabinet marked "serving dishes". Bagels and cream cheese are located in fridge. Place both on large platter, and place % in kitchen on island and the other half on refreshment counter in lobby. (Start with 1 bag and keep replenishing.) Occasionally there will be other pastries etc available in fridge - they will be labeled "Fellowship". Always make sure there are plates, napkins cups and silverware supplied. These are located in cabinets labeled accordingly. Please Note: If you see that donuts are running low, there are cookies and "Little Debbie" snacks located in cabinet marked "Fellowship Food". Feel free to use these!
- Juice/Water: Frozen juice is in freezer and pitchers are in cabinet by coffee supplies. Make 2 pitchers of juice - follow directions on can. (1 can concentrate per pitcher) Place 1 pitcher on island and 1 in lobby. Also make 2 pitchers of ice water - place 1 on island and 1 in lobby. Keep checking these and replenish when necessary.
- Clean-Up: Wash all coffee carafes and return to designated areas. (Make sure coffee filter basket is cleaned). Discard left-over juice and wash pitchers. Return to designated areas. Put left-over bagels in large zip-lock bag and put in fridge with cream cheese. (Any left-over donuts can be taken home ) Wipe down all counters with soapy water and make sure sinks are clean. Please put away all dishes that are washed!
