Saturday, January 16, 2010 – Update on Haiti Earthquake Relief and Noisy Offerings for the Remainder of this Month of January and February…
Dear Members and Friends,
 | | Lord, we lift up in our prayers the people of Haiti who have been tragically affected by the earthquake. We thank you for shielding many from the destructive disaster and pray for those devastated by the death of loved ones, personal injuries, and loss of property and possessions. Great Physician, bless the humanitarian effort in process in Haiti as the many organizations and agencies strive to relieve the suffering of those impacted by the earthquake. Good Shepherd, may Your presence, peace and power give strength to the workers and comfort to all those affected by this horrible tragedy. Amen. |
In lieu of this tragic event in Haiti, with the tens of thousands dead, people without shelter, drink and food, and our Lutheran Church Missouri Synod’s plea to its congregations and for all “God's people to respond as generously as possible during this most difficult time" to support our LCMS World Relief efforts in Haiti… - The REMAINDER of our Noisy Offerings for the month of January and February, will be designated for our LCMS World Relief and Human Care as they reach out with aid to the people of Haiti. Do keep the people of Haiti and the many agencies involved in this massive relief operation in your daily prayers.
- The Pie Auction on Sunday, February 14, along with the Noisy Offering for the month of March will then be designated for a new coffee maker and kitchen equipment for us.
Thank you for your understanding regarding the changes in priorities for our Noisy Offerings for the remainder of January and for the month of February.

Attention Thrivent Members – Financial for Lutherans has announced a challenge to its members that could result in a total of $3 million for the Lutheran agencies involved in aiding the people of Haiti. Those desiring to give a gift, make your donations at www.thrivent.com/helpinghaiti or by calling 800-236-3736 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Central time, Monday through Friday. When prompted, say "directory" and enter ext. 83003. Thrivent Financial will add $1 for every $2 members donate for “Helping Haiti.” Members may choose which Lutheran relief agency they want their contribution to support with Thrivent Financial adding up to $250 per member contribution – We encourage you to designate your gift to LCMS World Relief and Human Care Agency. One final note: Some asked if they could still make a gift toward the coffee pot and kitchen equipment during this time – YOU CAN MAKE A GIFT FOR WHATEVER YOU WANT AT ANYTIME. All you need to do is just memo your check as to where that gift should go. God’s blessings on our prayers and our giving as He has given to us.
