Sunday morning Schedule

9:00 am: Bible Study and Sunday School
10:00 am: Coffee and Fellowship
10:30 am: Worship

Worship lasts approximately one hour and includes worship music, a scripture reading, a message, prayer, a time of confession, and Holy Communion. If you are unable to attend in-person, you can watch the recorded sermons here.

When you arrive

Upon arrival you can expect a warm welcome from one of our Welcome Team members. Feel free to stop by our Welcome Desk and pick up a copy of our monthly news letter and Portals of Prayer booklet or you can walk straight ahead through the double doors into the worship area.

Communion

We believe participation in Communion is participation in Christ’s true body and blood. We invite all who are baptized and instructed on what we believe about Holy Communion to receive this gift of grace with us. If you are unsure, please speak with the pastor before receiving Communion.

What to wear

Whether you dress in your finest clothes or your favorite blue jeans, you won’t be alone at Heart of the Shepherd. Some choose to dress up as an act of worship while others choose casual dress and revel in God’s acceptance of us as we are. Both are acceptable to God and therefore acceptable to us!

Elements of Worship

Music is a timeless expression of praise to God.  It is accessible to children and adults, and allows God’s people to join their hearts and voices in response to God’s grace.

Confession means that we acknowledge before a holy God that we are not worthy of coming before Him except by His mercy and grace.  God invites all people to confess their sins so that He can extend forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

God’s Word has always been central to Christian worship.  We are reminded of God’s truth, challenged in our behavior, comforted by God’s promises, and united in our faith when we hear God’s Word together – read aloud and taught in a sermon.

Communion is one of the ways God has promised to offer His grace in a tangible way to believers in Jesus Christ.  We hold this promise so dear that we celebrate Communion at every service.

Prayer is an incredible privilege because the God who created the universe listens to us.  We don’t want to miss an opportunity to pray together to the God who loves us!
